Why You Should Have Disability Insurance

Individual Or Business Disability Insurance

Chris Antrim Insurance Brokers in Boise Idaho can help you put a plan together to help protect your income. Also we have business overhead expense plans to cover your business expense's if you cannot work.

Call our office today at 208-409-3382 to get a quote or review your current policies. We have over 20 years of experience working with clients in Idaho, Boise and the Treasure Valley.

Before you become disabled from an illness or an accident, one of the best things you can do is purchase disability insurance . It will replace a portion of your income, so you can pay your bills. It's like having a safety net, as it will replace your paycheck in case you become unable to work for a long period of time. You can also add a COLA rider and return of premiums riders to keep up with inflation.

How Do Policies Pay Benefits

Some policies require you to pay premiums to receive a disability benefit, but will increase as your salary increases. Some policies also have a tax-exempt feature that makes them attractive to high-income earners. While these policies are more expensive, they are worth it. If you're disabled for more than a year, you'll be able to continue your coverage indefinitely without having to submit any additional documentation.

When you're injured, your income will decrease. The benefits you receive will help you meet these needs. For example, if you're the sole breadwinner of your family, your disability may cause your expenses to increase. Your income may not be enough to support your family, so you'll want to ensure that you have adequate coverage. This insurance policy will help you replace that income. You'll also be able to pay your bills and pay for other essentials. The plan will work in conjunction with you health insurance plan to cover medical costs.

Your ability to earn an income is you're most valuable asset, so it's essential to protect it. If you can't work, you may lose all of your income. A disability insurance plan will replace most of your wages while you recover. While it's easier to purchase disability insurance when you're young and healthy, you may have to pay more for coverage if you're older or have pre-existing conditions.

A disability insurance policy can help you pay for your essential expenses if you can't work for a long time. It can help you pay your mortgage or car payments. It can also help you pay for school tuition if you have to stop working for a while. According to the Council for Disability Awareness, most long-term disability claims are caused by back injuries, heart disease, or cancer. Regardless of your age, there is no reason not to have this type of coverage.

Is DI Insurance Worth The Cost

The first step to applying for disability insurance is to check with your employer. Depending on the type of disability, you may qualify for benefits based on your employer's disability policy. A short-term disability insurance policy will pay out a portion of your salary for up to 90 days. A long-term disability insurance policy will pay out for up to 10 years. You can find disability insurance policies that cover a wide range of needs.

This plan can help protect assets, savings, and family. It can also help you earn money. A physician's income is his or her biggest asset. The insurance will help pay for medical bills. In addition to providing income for the household, disability insurance can protect your future. The insurance policy pays out benefits for up to 120 days. Regardless of your age, a disability insurance policy can be a lifeline to financial security.

Who should buy a policy? If you earn a significant income. It is a good idea to take out a policy that covers a significant portion of your income. If you need to take time off from work, you should consider getting a long-term disability insurance policy. It's the best way to ensure your family's welfare. The benefits of disability insurance can be life-changing. This insurance will also provide you with a source of income for a short time.

While the benefits of disability insurance can differ from one policy to another, these policies usually cover your medical expenses and other expenses. The benefits of disability insurance policies are available when you need them the most.

They are available for both short-term and long-term coverage. SSA estimates that 20-year-old workers have a one-in-four chance of becoming disabled before reaching retirement age. In order to qualify for these benefits, a person must have a medical condition that has lasted at least one year. The disability must also be severe. It must not be partial.

If you're researching your health care options in general and your Medicare supplement options then this article is for you. Even if you already looked at different plans locally or online, this article hopefully will provide you new information that will help you make an informed decision. and avoid taking on unneeded risk.

My hope is that I am going to help you understand your Medicare supplement plans and their role in your healthcare. I'm going to reveal to you how to determine what the possible best plan is and what they may or may not cover.

Hello, I’m Chris your Boise Medicare Supplement specialist. My agency is an independent insurance broker specializing in Health Coverage, Life Insurance, Long Term Care and retirement needs. We help our customers with their insurance decisions throughout the entire state of Idaho.

My and my agency's philosophy when helping or clients with their health care choices is to first review and understand your choices. You should first shop in the local marketplace, you can do this online or with the help of a local broker or agent like our staff. This is your insurance plan, it is important to review everything especially if you have a health issue. If you cannot find a policy that meets your needs, either with coverage or budget. You may consider a Medicare advantage plan.

Medsupps Vs. Medicare Advantage Plans

The first thing to understand about Med supplement plans is this; if you chose a Medigap plan, it means you've also chosen to get original Medicare as your primary insurance. That red, white and blue card; that is your primary coverage. Because original Medicare is your primary coverage the benefits of that coverage pass on to your supplement, which is your secondary insurer. Your insurance plan you purchase picks up the other 20% not covered. This is true no matter which plan you have, or which insurance company that you choose.

This is very important and it is often misunderstood. What are the benefits of original Medicare that pass on to your supplement plan? First, with the original plan you can see any doctor, go to any hospital in the US or it's territories as long as they accept Medicare. Because this is a feature of Original Medicare, it's a feature of any supplement plan you have, from any insurance company. Second is that the intent of your original plan is to cover everything that's medically necessary.

Your supplement will cover the copays and deductibles of all of your Health Care approved by Medicare and it will cover what is medically necessary. Just think of it like this, if your doctor tells you to have something performed it probably is medically necessary. If you are electing to have a procedure is done that doesn’t affect your health in any fashion, it most likely is not necessary and not covered. Our agents can explain this in more detail when we visit for your review.

To determine medically necessary they really lean on your doctor. It depends on your doctor's diagnosis and your doctor's opinion. With original Medicare as your primary Health Care, any supplement you have will follow the direction of Medicare to determine what is or is not covered and Medicare depends on your doctor's diagnosis and opinion. The bottom line is your supplement will cover the copays and deductibles of all of your healthcare approved by and will cover what is medically necessary.

Which brings me to my favorite benefit of having original Medicare. With original Medicare, the for-profit insurance companies are taken entirely out of the decision-making process. They have absolutely no say in what is covered, who is paid or how much. All they do is what Medicare tells them to do. This means that because you have original Medicare no matter which supplement plan or which insurance company you choose you to retain the right to see any doctor or go to any hospital. Plus, neither you nor your doctor ever has to ask an insurance company for permission to have a procedure.

Idaho Birthday Rule for Medicare Supplement plans information

Idaho’s laws and rules for Medicare Supplement policies have changed. The Idaho legislature approved legislation to provide additional options and consumer protections for Idaho seniors. The Idaho Department of Insurance (“the Department”) published a temporary rule on November 3 related to Medicare Supplement policies in accordance with Senate Bill 1143, signed by Governor Little on April 22, 2021. The rule proposed went through negotiated rulemaking as required.

The rule, IDAPA 18.04.10, was published November 3 in the Administrative Bulletin Volume 21-11, and includes two major changes effective after February 28, 2022:

  1. Medicare Supplement policyholders may change their insurance company and/or plan annually regardless of health conditions during a 63-day enrollment period beginning on the policyholder’s birthday; and
  2. Premium rates for new Medicare Supplement policies (including when changing insurance companies) will no longer be based on the age of the applicant. This is referred to as “community rating.”

The proposed rule also prohibits charging application fees, higher premium rates based on the method of payment, and other unfair trade practices.

It is important to know that current Medicare Supplement plans are guaranteed renewable, and current policies will continue unless a change is requested by the policyholder. These rule changes provide flexibility to current Medicare Supplement policyholders who wish to change their policy, but no change is required. After February 28, 2022, existing Medicare Supplement policyholders may choose to shop for comparable community-rated coverage starting the day of their birthday.

The Department hosted public webinars on this topic on November 18, 2021 and February 15, 2022. The presentation slides from the February 15, 2022 event are available by clicking the following link  Changes to Idaho’s Medicare Supplement Rules 2022 Update

Average Cost Of Health Insurance

Factors Affecting Your Premium

The average cost of health insurance in Idaho varies by state. However, the state does not offer any Medicaid managed care program. Private insurance plans vary in monthly rates and metal levels.

Some policies have lower premiums than others, while others have higher premiums. In addition, they offer several cost-sharing subsidies and premium tax credits, which may help individuals afford their plans. This article will discuss the average cost of health plans.

Buying a policy is a complicated process. First, you have to determine your health status and budget. Then, you have to choose the right plan. Fortunately, the state has expanded Medicaid for low-income residents, seniors, and people with medical conditions.

Boise Health Insurance

To begin, consider comparing premiums and out-of-pocket maximums to decide which plan is best for you. A lower-cost silver plan costs $452 a month. Those with moderate to high medical expenses should purchase an upper-tier policy, which generally has a lower deductible, but higher premiums.

The policy is divided into three metal tiers. Bronze plans are the least expensive, and they include lower deductibles and high out-of-pocket maximums. The gold and platinum plans, on the other hand, offer low deductibles and high premiums. Generally, individuals who need more extensive medical coverage should opt for gold or platinum plans, which come with lower out-of-pocket costs and higher monthly premiums.

Average Cost For A Health Insurance

Individuals with moderate health care needs can opt for silver plans, which come with modest monthly premiums and low deductibles. Although they are more expensive, they also offer tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies. The most affordable silver plan in Idaho is $452 per month. If you are unsure of the average cost of a specific insurance plan, visit the Your Health Idaho website.

The average cost of coverage varies greatly, but you can find affordable coverage by contacting an insurance agent in your area. Depending on your income, you can qualify for government-subsidized plans. Aside from the average cost of policy mentioned above which is a silver tier, there are least expensive bronze plans in Idaho is $323 per month. For those with high-deductible plans, the average price of a gold plan is $1,348 per month.

Individuals are eligible for government-run healthcare programs. They can also purchase insurance through private companies. While average premiums do not reflect actual insurance rates, you should always make sure to read the fine print. While the average cost can vary significantly, it is still an excellent option for most people. This state is home to many low-income individuals. You can get affordable coverage by comparing premiums in Idaho using an agent's service. Being a diabetic individual means a lifetime taking of medications and treatments. Although there is an underwriting policy for people who have been diagnosed with diabetes, it is important for them to manage their healthy lifestyle to improve their health.

6 Keys To Manage Your Diabetic

The Boise Health & Life Insurance is here to share with you the 6 keys to controlling your diabetes.

  1. Eat Healthily. This is the most crucial stage for a diabetic person because what you eat can affect your blood sugar. You don’t have to limit your food intake, what you need to do is focus on eating only as much as your body needs. Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. Choose nonfat dairy and lean meats. Avoid foods with too much sugar and fat. Carbohydrates turn into sugar, try to lessen your carb intake. Try to keep it about the same from meal to meal or much better create your own healthy meals. Eating healthy foods is more important if you take insulin or drugs to keep your blood sugars controlled.
  2. Exercise. Start a regular exercise. It is better to take at least 30-minutes of activities that can make you sweat and breathe a little harder most days of the week. Regular exercise and an active lifestyle can help you control your diabetes by bringing down your blood sugar. Plus, it can reduce the chances of getting heart disease.
  3. Get Checkups. Regular check-ups with your doctor can keep your blood sugar controlled. Get a full eye exam every year and get a check for foot ulcers and nerve damage.
  4. Manage Stress. Stress is the number one enemy of all diseases. When you’re stressed all of your emotions go up, especially your blood sugar levels. Stress also raises the odds of heart disease. Another reason why you should manage your stress is when you’re anxious, you might forget to take your medicine on time, can’t eat right, you skip your regular exercise. To manage your stress, find ways to relieve your stress, like doing your favorite hobbies.
  5. Stop Smoking. Well, we all know that smoking is an unhealthy habit if you’re a diabetic person you should stop smoking. If you continue doing it face the consequences of getting a health problem even higher and faster.
  6. Watch Alcohol Intake. It is always easy to control your blood sugars if you also control your beer, wine, and liquor intake. It’s okay to drink but don’t overdo it. Everything that is too much is bad for health. Check your blood sugar when drinking.

Being diabetic is a demanding disease, there are a lot of changes you have to sacrifice in order to maintain low blood sugar. Managing your health can be stressful, but with proper control and discipline yourself, you can take control of your body and your health.

Smokers Term Life Insurance Quotes - Boise Life Insurance Broker - Chris Antrim - Pricing & Cost

Smokers Term Life Insurance Policies - Get Affordable Rates

Smokers often pay extremely high premiums on life insurance policies . This includes premiums for those who are heavy smokers and those who smoke only occasionally, it doesn't matter to the insurance carrier.

If you use tobacco in any form you will pay tobacco rates. Except for celebratory cigar!

Premiums are usually double that for a nonsmoker rate class. For those who've been heavy smokers, a smoker's annual premium is double if not 3 times that amount.

Why has Tobacco been rated so aggressively? Tobacco use is known to cause heart disease, stroke, lung cancer, and even kidney failure.

These are serious diseases that can quickly kill. If you're one of the people who smoke, you may shop around for the best tobacco rates you can find!

You can help to protect your health and keep premiums lower by making a few changes to your lifestyle.

How To Quit Smoking and Get Better Life Insurance Rates

The simplest way to quit smoking is to just quit cold turkey if you can! However, the second most important step to quitting smoking is changing your lifestyle.

Smoking not only depletes your blood sugar levels, but it also harms your physical health.

As your blood sugar levels drop, your body produces androstenone, which is a substance that causes your body to produce more cholesterol and triglycerides.

This makes it harder for you to properly burn fat and maintain a healthy weight.

To quit smoking effectively, you need to change your diet and mindset. It is recommended that you cut out all processed sugars, as well as processed grains, and replace them with fresh fruits and vegetables.

By replacing processed foods with fresh foods you'll give your body the nutrients it needs to function properly, as well as helping to reduce your risk for disease.

As you can see changing your lifestyle is the best way to get great rates on all your health was underwritten insurance policies. Examples are Life, Health , Disability, Long Term Care Insurances.

Many people with high-risk factors have high levels of LDL or bad cholesterol. Bad cholesterol will clog up the arteries, causing heart attacks and strokes.

There are many other risks associated with smoking, including cancer and respiratory problems. It is important to determine what you are at risk for and then find a plan that offers the best coverage for the most amount of coverage.

You may also be considered a high-risk factor if you smoke because it increases your chances to have hypertension, high cholesterol, and obesity.

A high-risk individual may be denied the right to buy a life insurance policy at first due to these health concerns.

If you are considered high risk, then your premiums may be higher, but some companies will help you lower the amount you pay.

You can always ask for a rate reduction. If you quit smoking for some time you can ask the company to reduce the premiums.

They are happy to do this. Since you are at lower risk you qualify for lower rates. It is a win-win for everybody!

You may also be considered a high-risk group if you have a history of heart attack, diabetes, cancer, or liver disease.

What Affects Tobacco Insurance Rates

For example, smokers who have a family history of these conditions may find that their coverage to be more expensive. These individuals are often asked to have a blood test before being insured so that they can qualify.

Once you have found a company that offers life insurance for smokers and chewers, you will need to find out whether or not your current employer offers this type of coverage.

In many cases, your employer will have a group plan for you, which means that you'll have the advantage of not having to deal with a company representative.

Also, since it is a group plan it may be more affordable than your policy. The trade-off is, if you leave your work you typically leave the policy.

Most group insurance plans will be cheaper than individually owned policies. Although group insurance policies are generally more expensive, they also typically cover many more individuals and are a lot less expensive to buy in a group.

When buying a life insurance policy through a group plan, it's best to check with a reputable company and make sure you are purchasing a policy from a reliable company.

You can also ask friends and family who may have insurance to recommend a good company.

As you see now, smokers and tobacco users can find affordable term life and permanent life insurance plans.

Call our office today and we can shop the market for you to help you find the best policy at the price you can budget for.
